Today was held in Messina, as in all of Italy, the 14th edition of the Food Collection. In a time where confusion, uncertainty and doubt, the mood seems to become more widespread among the people, the man appears more and more alone. Meet people prepared to share this free play, which is the true desire awakens in every heart to be loved.

Despite the severe economic downturn, there was a significant increase in donations of food.
were donated in our province, 70,013 pounds of food, well more than 8,950 kg in 2009.
In the city were 33,055 kg collected: 2842 kg in the previous year.
We want to thank all those who have contributed to the success of the initiative: the supermarket chains that have hosted the Food Collection, the 1500 volunteers belonging mostly to local charitable organizations (soup kitchens, community for children, schools solidarity movements, religious groupings) and trading companies that have provided personnel and equipment.
Special thanks go to the Municipal Police Command Messina and the Italian Post Office, which provided significant logistical support.
Thanks finally to all those who, by shopping, have donated a large part to the needy.
